My name is Malli. During the summer of
my 13th year, I was accepted into an art
program for New York City inner city kids at
Pratt Institute. That summer I was
introduced to oil painting, and by the end
of the summer won third place in an art
competition. The big price? My own
introductory set of oil paints. Because my
family was poor in resources, I didn't do
much oil painting for a long time. In fact, it
wasn't until a few years ago that I resumed
any type of art. I now have a small studio in
Texas. The paintings you will find on this
Web site reflect my interest in people and
places, but I have to admit that I am still
finding my way. I hope to continue painting
for as long as I am living because art to
me is as important as air. The paintings
